The set design and animations

In 2020, Imaginarium explored the world of comics within the Lucca Comics & Games programme, with a set design and animation project for the first staging of Lucrezia Forever!, a show in the Graphic Novel Theatre section, inspired by the character created by Silvia Ziche, directed and written by Francesco Niccolini, starring Amanda Sandrelli.

Produced by Teatro del Giglio di Lucca and Lucca Crea, Lucrezia Forever! required a very simple set design, with just a few physical elements evoking objects from the protagonist's home, leaving room instead for a complex visual project of illustrative compositions and animations using original materials and works from Silvia Ziche's repertoire.

To tell the story of the contemporary female world drawn by Silvia Ziche, in a mix of self-irony, awareness, tenderness, and realism, we immediately worked on the concept of interaction between actor and scene, giving life to what we defined as a "non-monologue monologue". Actress Amanda Sandrelli is alone on stage, but the dramaturgy catapults her into a situation rich with "virtual" characters she can interact with.
