The video mapping content

In 2018, Teatro Verdi di Pisa commissioned Imaginarium Creative Studio to produce video mapping content for the set design of Mosè in Egitto by Gioachino Rossini, for the 2018/2019 opera season.

After meeting with set designer Valentina Bressan and artist José Yaque, we began producing a series of digital content to help the audience understand the semantic meaning of the scene, linked to the concept of the migration of peoples. We worked on the concept of flow, understood as a stream of consciousness, a migratory flow, a flow that starts from the past and moves toward the future.

The digital content produced was designed for the set elements and the singer's body (body mapping). The technique used for body mapping allowed the singer to move freely on stage without positional constraints, thanks to the use of the Kinect sensor. A fully interactive video mapping, managed by following the score and orchestral direction via a MIDI controller.

“Everything is in motion, man himself is the flow. The events of history have repeatedly tried to stop the movement of the flow.”
